But, it kind of depended on the situation. We are more of a forward thinking family, so conservative thoughts didn't necessarily do a lot of good for us. Our values were somewhat traditional though, which made a majority of what we did formal. We were pretty serious while I was growing up, but as I got older I started to think I was a pretty funny guy. I cannot remember a time when one of them made a decision that the other was not on board with. I was really good at cooperating with my friends and my parents, but being an only child it made me very competitive with my friends as well. I am generally a competitive person and I probably will always be competitive. I am a pretty social guy and so taking away my friends was a huge punishment for me. Rewards didn't come easy, but good grades and doing my chores brought me good food and fun activities that my mom would pay for me to go to.
