My hope for UTP—is for the staff, including myself — to focus on driving change collaboratively rather than complaining about outdated systems / processes.

I also hope for UTP to keep updating facilities' architecture and design at a point where external feel like they’re seeing a university that represents the future of STEM—innovative and futuristic, like something out of Doraemon-kind-of-future. (I know, monetary could be an issue, but I am just stating my hope😇)

If I may add, instead of always benchmarking others, I hope to be part of a team that creates new solutions. By leading innovation (of course with government support) we could set the new standard and become the benchmark for others to follow.

Part of 5-Year Strategic Plan (2020-2025) for Academic Division, we planned to offer MSc ODL before the COVID19 pandemic. We explored to ODL as an addition to the conventional mode since this mode is very suitable for working professional. Via ODL, basically they can study anytime, anywhere and any device. This option is selected because our MSc CW by conventional was not very successful in attracting working professional because the program delivery was quite rigid. Students need to commute to UTP every weekend to attend lectures and assessments, and these are heavy costs to students due to traveling, lodging, meals and etc. We start offering ODL during the COVID19 pandemic with only two (2) MSc programs in May 2020 semester i.e. MSc in Electronic System Engineering and MBA in Energy Management and follow in September Semester 2020 with additional four (4) MSc Programs including MSc in Assessment Management, Offshore Eng, Petroleum Geoscience and Process Integration. To date, we are offering 13 MSc via ODL and have been able to attract more than 300 working professionals, locally and internationally. More new programs are in the pipeline. As time goes, insyallah the student's enrollment will grow exponentially and it will become one of the best revenue streams for UTP and the best in this region.
