P.S. I might get carried away with this, so bear with me

I dislike people lying, being rude, and being tardy. I don't like matcha because of its aftertaste, and I also don't like it when cafes are too overpriced.

It was the first good choice I made back in grade 11.

Weirdly, I love listening to old songs, and it's because of this that my grandmother keeps teasing me. "Mas tiguwang paman ka sa ako, gie," she would say. Old songs have this particular sound and feeling to them. I can't describe it, but whenever I listen to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, or Paul Anka, it makes me daydream a bit. I go as far as Marilyn Monroe's time.

I started with fantasy, then as I explored more titles and authors, I found myself reading a variety of genres. Nowadays, I seek books that have weird and thought-provoking plots like "Bunny" by Mona Awad or "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara.

Thinking about this, I think I prefer urban sketches because it's easier for me to see the basic shapes of them. If I stare at a building, I can easily see the cubes and spheres, whereas in people, they're a bit abstract because of all the curves and dips.

Of course, there will be ups and downs, but I think I want to see more bright sides. I want to be optimistic instead of pessimistic about things so that I have motivation. It might not be easy, but at least I'm with people who will support me throughout this final journey of high school.

In this letter, you will find the things you learned and the things you had hoped for yourself. So expect this to be somewhat long and detailed. Also, you didn't make this letter for the sake of passing Personal Development; you made this letter because you thought it would be something nice to look back on should the chance arise ten years later.

Let's start with what I'm currently learning in Ateneo de Davao SHS. Well, there's a lot, to be honest, and I'm sure you remember your days pulling all-nighters for a ten-item quiz. Anyways, as I write this letter, I'm currently studying biology, chemistry, physics, English, personal development, practical research, earth science, and catholic and social teachings. Some of these subjects I liked, some definitely not. Especially math-related ones. Though the teachers made learning fun, I'm at least glad that I get to have good teachers like Sir Aries, Miss Aivy, and Sir Jerwin. Learning in a fun environment helps me perform better and think creatively instead of objectively.

I'm also not just learning about these subjects, but I'm also learning about myself as I go along the way. And this is because of the subject Personal Development. Taking this class helped me realize a few things about myself as a growing person, student, and member of society. PerDev sometimes made me face my worst enemy --- my own mind --- in gentle and small yet impactful ways. Like making padlets and letters to myself. Actually, perhaps it was through PerDev that I got one of my greatest realizations because I was left to ponder myself. I think Personal Development is really "Me, myself, and I."

Now, since I'm writing this for my future self, what do I hope for in the future? If I'd list them down right now, it would be endless. But, for the sake of practicality and ease, I hope to be happy and content with my life in the future. That's the summation of all my hopes and dreams. I manifest that my future self will be grateful for all she achieved with her own two hands despite the hardships. I hope she succeeds as a psychologist who helps others with a smile. I hope she travels a lot and drinks good coffee with the person she loves or the people she cares about. And I hope she won't be alone.

All in all, from the bottom of my heart, I am writing this letter to the "you" ten years from now so that you can read it and say, "I really did accomplish all this." You may feel sad at times, but know that you did and will do great things in life.
