Waste management is affected on a National level because some countries know how to properly manage their waste in better more environmental friendly ways than many others. I.e. recycling, composting, etc. Waste adds carbon-based particles into the air, which are created by the burning of the products. This creates warmer air, thus a disastrous greenhouse effect. To help decrease this, waste prevention and recycling reduce the amount of waste sent to incinerators, lowering the greenhouse gases emitted during combustion. Greenhouse gases are emitted as waste decomposes in landfills. (Greenhouse gases are emitted during decomposition)

transportation accounts for almost 25% of all co2 emissions, and almost three-quarters of those emissions are from motor vehicles such as cars, trucks, busses and motorcycles. by walking places, you use your car less but if somewhere is too far away to walk than take public transit, using public transportation means several people can use the same bus to go somewhere thereby reducing co2 emissions.

Transportation is a large factor when it comes to figuring out the leading causes of climate change. It accounts for 29% of all carbon emissions generated. There are two levels you can approach this issue at, Individual, and National. Individual is what you can do as a single person, and what you can do is take a bike instead of car for short trips or bus instead of biking. On the National level or the second level you can approach this topic at is what will make the most impact. On a National level cars could be fazed out for EVs or Public Transportation via laws and or restrictions. The second level would make the most impact but also take the longest and might take years to put into place. Any sort of change is a step forward into a green carbon neutral world.
