         <description><![CDATA[<div>He began his career by taking over his father’s business of moving structures out of the way of the Erie canal with jackscrews. He then moved to Chicago doing the same thing. He then saw that there was less of a need for his service because new buildings were being built with better foundations, so he began manufacturing railroad cars. He traveled on the railroad a lot for work and found it to be very uncomfortable. So he designed new sleeper cars that were more luxurious and they were an instant hit.</div>]]></description>
