The diagrams demonstrate two different ways of getting water from channel to irrigate the fields. One using a swing basket and the other one by using ropes and bucket.
In the first diagram, two people use the basket made of bamboo or leather. They stand on and swing the basket with ropes. The water is collected from a holes that is 1-2 metres deep and poured into an irrigation channel to go to the fields. This is the simple way to get water by using power of human.
In contrast to the first diagram, in the second diagram, the ropes and bucket is used to get water. It works with the help of ox. The bucket goes down into the deep hole, about 50 metres. After that, the bucket of water is pulled up by a rollers and pulley. They are then sent to the irrigation channels.
In conclusion, using the swing basket is good for short distance and shallow water while using the ropes and bucket and work with the help of ox and collecting water in a deep hole, tools. The second is better than the first because we can get more water but it's complex.

The two given diagrams demonstrate two differences of fetching water for agriculture purpose. The first method called Swing basket by using simple craft material basket, the second one called Rope and bucket with the main impact from the ox and modern equipments.

In the first diagram which is named Swinh basket, there is two man holding 2 ends of ropes to scoop water from the basket and pour it to fields, irrigation channel or another location. The basket can be made of bamboo or leather which is very rustic. The height of this stream is not too dangerous so the bucket can be easily lowered by the strength of a person pulling two ropes, human power can completely do this way.

In constrast, the second method uses a powerful pulling aid is the ox. Although this method use the same equipment as the firts one, it is rope and a thing to hold water, but it has more support tools. The height of this well is 50 metres so the bucket is tied to a rope and pulled up by a pulley system, then combined with the slope of the road that ox is moving on, this becomes easier to deliver water into irrigation canals

In conclusion, method of use swing basket can be called the method of using human power instead of expensive machines, but can not be maintained for long and the water extraction efficiency is not optimized quickly. Therefore, the second method seemed better, the efficiency relies on the slope and force of the ox making the work more efficient.

This basket is made from bamboo or leather and tied with ropes. Two people work together to take water from a small river or stream, then pour the water into a small channel that leads to the fields. This way doesn’t need any machine, but it takes a lot of effort and time. Also, it only works well when the water is not too deep.

The second method uses a bucket and rope system. There is a deep well, about 50 meters, and a pulley system. A cow or another animal pulls the rope to lift a bucket of water. The water then flows down a slope and goes into the fields. This way is faster and can take more water, but it needs animals and equipment.

In conclusion, the first way is simple and cheap, while the second way is stronger and better for deep wells.

These drawings illustrates two types of obtaining water for agriculture purposes using both human-powered operation and animal-operated.

The first picture shows two farmers are using an uncomplicated technique which called "swing basket". Agriculturists will dig to the qater source next to their crops first. The water level was shallow, only 1-2 meters depth from the ground. To gain access to clean water, each user will hold a side of a rope which is attached to a basker usually made of bamboo or leather. The water will be scoop from the table to the irrigation channel and then to the field.

For the following way called "rope and bucket", people used animal-operated instead of humans. A well will be dig in order to access deeper water table underground. Rather than 1-2 meters, now farmers can reach and use water at 50 meters depth below. To get admission of water, we need more complicated and something really simple. Cultivator will attached the rope to an ox, also linked it with the rollers and pulley at the same time. At the other side of the rope, they will hang a bucket to gain water. Then, the ox will drag the rope down the slope. Using the leverage, the water now could be easily access and use through the irrigation channel was built next to it.

In conclusion, both methods of collecting water are useful for irrigation purpose. While the "swing basket" are not required as much as equipment as "rope and bucket", it still needs more power to operate. At the same time, the "rope and bucket" way can be more effectively but need more equipment and instruction.

The diagrams depicts two different processes of fetching water for agricultural watering.

In diagram A , the tool used to get water at a depth of 1-2 meters is swing basket . Basket is made of bamboo or leather and it is connected with the ropes . Firstly , two farmers hold the rope at both ends of the basket and throw it down to a depth of about 1-2 meters to get water . Next , they lifted the basket and carried it to the water reservoir for irrigation purpose.

Contrast with the above approach, diagram B mainly uses animal power , is called rope and bucket. People tie a bucket to a system of pulley and rollers , and then connect this system to an ox . Thanks to the steep terrain and the strength of this animal , people can take water from a well about 50 meters . Water after being drawn up from the well will be pour into irrigation channels.

In a nutshells , the diagram A uses human energy and the diagram B uses pulleys and oxen pulling power . The amount of water collected by these methods is also at separate depths . Both ways can be easily applied in water supply for agriculture.

The pictures below illustrate comparison two ways to fetching water by swing basket and rope bucket for agriculture .

First of all, both process have been invented for getting water to irrigation . In the swing basket , two people have to bring two ropes for flat the basket made of bamboo or leather. Next, two farmers have to hold and move the basket which the connected of the ropes and their strength. Then with their movement they scoop water out of one to two meters under the land. And they push the basket filled with water up to the irrigation channel.

Opposite, the human energy the rope and bucket use the animals energy such as cow or buffalo. People will instant some sope on the animals connect with the pulley and rollers and blind a bucker under the water well with 50 meters deep. After that the ox can come close the water well for the bucket can down deeper for water come inside , go down the slope to draw the roller and pulley to put up the bucket filled water. Finally, the bucket will pour the water to the irrgation channel.

Both of pictures demonstrate naturally water irrigation process by using human energy and animals energy. All of that two kind of different place of water have been used by these methods.

The two diagrams illustrate two methods of getting water for irrigation of crops. The first one is called ‘Swing basket’ by using a handmade basket, another the one is called ‘Rope and bucket’ by using a strength of ox to work.

In the Swing basket is mainly using a simple basket crafted by bamboo or leather and four small ropes to connect with the basket. Firstly, they need to people to handle and connect two ropes to the basket and do it with the opposite site. Then they certainly work together to get the water in the basket in the well that depth 1 - 2 meters. Finally, if the basket is full of water two people will pull it up and get the water for irrigation channel or field.

On the others hand, there is one more way to collect water is Rope and bucket. Not like Swing basket which is used people strength to work, Rope and bucket work by using an animal strength and the chosen one is an ox. The process is beginning when the slope ties with an ox and connects with the pulley and rollers system which are the bucket can go up and down to take water from the wells that depth into 50 meters under the land. Secondly, an ox comes near the system so the bucket can go down and take the water. Thirdly, when the bucket is full of water someone will attach an ox so it cans pull the bucket up by using strength and the rollers will turn until the bucket at the peak of the pulley, people will take the water for irrigation channels.

Overall, the Swing basket is very useful which is good if there is a shallow water but the Rope and bucket is better because they can use ox’s strength to take more water in the more depth water.

These two ways use easy to find meterial like rope, bamboo, leather, bucket, roller,…

The first method is swing basket, it includes a basket was made by bamboo or leather, add rope to tie into the basket. Need to two people pull the water from stream or river deep around 1-2 meters to irrigation channels. This method is a ways easy to taking water for plants, but it’s quite difficult for farmer, spend a lot of their energy and just can lifting water over short distance.

In the other hand, rope and bucket is a method more complex system. It was designed for taking water form a deep well about 50 meters. It has a lot of equipment like rollers, pulley, bucket,.. specially these method don’t use human instead is animals. Farmer will tie rope into the ox and it pull a rope on a slope. Along with rollers and pulleys, water was collecting in bucket from deep well to an irrigation channels. This method is designed for getting water from a deeper places, use advantage mechanical and animals power rather than human do that.

In conclusion, both methods is the purpose for irrigation.

The diagrams below show two methods of collecting water for irrigation purposes.

The first is the method of using the swing basket, this method is used by two people to control the basket made of bamboo or leather to get water. They take water from the river with the height of the water level from 1 to 2 meters. After that, irrigation channels leading to fields.

Compared to the first method, the second method is more complicated. They use a cow to pull the rope connect bucket, using the bucket to get water from a well with a depth of 50 meters. Two strings passed through a pulley, rollers and wrapped around the cow standing on the steep slope, it used to pull the bucket up. When the bucket is filled with water, it is put into the irrigation channels.

In conclusion, the swing basket is a simple and easy method but it only used for water is not too high. For rope and bucket on the contrary, it is better but it only for deep water sources and need animals to do.
