  • Transformative learning can be defined as a theory which says that learners make a connection between their background knowledge, past ideas about a topic and the new information they get. These learners are also able to evaluate the new information. Instrumental learning and communicative learning are the two basic elements of TL.

They all fights with discrimination, and these concepts aim to raise learners' awareness on injustice, oppression and so on.

    -Differences: While "critical pedagogy" deals with liberty of individuals and critical conciousness, "critical multicultural education" mostly focuses on injustice and biases in society. On the other hand, "transformative learning" is more limited concept than the others.

    -Relationship: The relationship between these three concepts is their "aims". They all aim to get learners to have equal opportunities in education.
