For your post, make the title your name. In the post itself, review some of the common stereotypes/misconceptions of American Indians illustrated here:

https://americanindian.si.edu/nk360/faq/did-you-know (Links to an external site.)

Briefly reflect and respond the following questions:

Which of these stereotypes may I have unknowingly believed in?
How have your opinions about them been formed? From what sources?
Are your views fair, complete, accurate? Why or why not?

I assume this from articles about Native reservation land on the news. My views are not accurate because there are people who are Native who live all over the US and live normal lives like the rest of us.

A stereotype I have unknowingly believed in was that all Indians live in tipis. I formed this belief most likely from my old history classes where there were pictures of Indians living in tipis and we learned that that was what they lived in in earlier times but I just believed they still lived in them because I didn't know what to think. My views are not accurate but they were based off of some events in history.

When I am asked about Native Americans my knowledge is very little. As a young kid I was taught in history class that native Americans lived in tipis and were red skinned. I was told they used fire signals and were just very down to earth. My assumptions were wrong and not everything I was told was all true or may have been true a very long time ago
