I am from a small town in Northern California-born and raised. I was married to my best-friend of 7 years, last June, in Kauai. Together, we have four amazing children. Layla (12), Ryden (10), Emmalyn (2), Greyson (1). 

Shortly after High School, I began working in the field of Education and enjoyed it so much, I chose not to continue going to college and just focus on working. It is probably my biggest regret.
It wasn't until a few years ago, that I began realizing the importance of learning and knowledge. I've decided I wanted to teach my own children that it is never to late to accomplish a goal, so here I am. 

I began Pacific Oaks in August of 2016 and completed my Bachelor's Degree in Human Development. I walked at the Pacific Oaks Commencement in May. 
I haven chose to continue on to get my Master's Degree in Early Childhood, specializing in trauma. Having adopted 3 of my children from foster care, even as early as birth, I have experienced the critical effects of trauma, and I knew that this path would not only benefit me professionally, but it would help me become a better parent personally. My parents, siblings and our children, are all very close. We usually try to gather for a family meal at least 1x a week. My mother is very involved with my children and I wouldn't be able to work and finish school without her support. Currently, I am employed with Wested. My job description includes: coaching, curriculum support, professional development, data collection and parent connection. 

I enjoy working with Early Educators and children, and have truly gained a respect for the work that is done. I anticipate walking at the commencement ceremony in May, 2019. 

I'd like to be able to take my learning experience and begin shedding light on the importance of understanding trauma, and it's effects on children.
