This was a simple use of video and media on the board, the purpose of this video was for students to visually see the information while hearing, the visual aids the hearing for some students.

The second ICT component is within the Guided Discovery part of the lesson, this is where students are able to use the SmartBoard to interact and complete the Butterfly Life Cycle diagram. Using the SmartBoard creates an environment where students are interested and excited to participate as this technology is fun and exciting to them. Some students are auditory learner, absorbing information efficiently through spoken words, others are visual learners. the SmartBoard provides students the opportunity to absorb information in multiple formats. This helps increase retention and synthesis information. In addition, interactive whiteboards allow students to become part of the process, rather than only being the recipients of information. 

The third ICT component demonstrated within this lesson is the classroom blog. Where students and teachers are able to write posts and communicate with each other online. The purpose of incorporating the blog was to enable students control over providing feedback to their teacher in a way that was less confronting for some students. This feedback provides the teacher access to acknowledge students idea's and comments, self reflect upon these and then alter their approach or incorporate more or less information/activities. ]]> 2018-09-20 01:41:04 UTC https://padlet.com/shai_palmer/sschx8nh3pq4/wish/283697334 Assessment Task shai_palmer https://padlet.com/shai_palmer/sschx8nh3pq4/wish/283699208 The chosen assessment task for this lesson was a Peer Assessment Checklist. These checklists were assessed in groups which forced students to collectively collaborate and agree unanimously on a verdict. The purpose of this was to enable students to work cohesively in their groups, participate and portray their individual input while accepting others. By having students mark their peers it provided each student with more feedback, exposed students to a broad range of varying perspectives, presented a deeper understanding of quality, encouraged active learning and collaboration, and developed self-assessment skills.
