         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Positive thing in the home, encouraged reading every day<br>-Read together at night<br>-Grew up to not like reading:&nbsp; encourage students to pick a topic they are interested in to get their interest<br>-Support group from parents wasn't always there, reading wasn't reinforced and not an every day thing.<br>-How to engage students that don't love to read? &nbsp; Pull up an article or something different that is something that they can read that interests them. &nbsp;<br>-Look into other types of reading material: magazines, comics, etc.<br>-Put subtitles on when watching videos in class, gives more opportunities to read.<br>-read together as a class just for fun&nbsp;- kids love to be read to!<br>-Encourage writing to help with the connections between reading and writing.<br>-Real-world connections:&nbsp; house products, street signs, labels, etc.<br>-Encouraging students within the classroom setting and to be supportive.<br><br></div>]]></description>
