Are you genetically more similar to your mom or your dad?
The answer to this question may seem easy, but when we relate it to genetics, it would not be that easy.

As we watch kids grow up, we tend to look for resemblances between them and their parents. However,
in science, it is not a question of which parent contributes more genetically. It is rather whose genetics work more. To make it clearer, resemblance to one parent does not only depend on the total number of genes a child
inherits from a mother or a father, it also depends on which parents' genes are actually doing more. In both ways, scientists think that the answer isn't exactly 50/50.

This event is organized annually by the Human Genome Research in the United State.
The goal of National DNA Day is to offer students, teachers and the public an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the latest advances in genomic research and explore how those advances impact their lives. National DNA Day encourages people to learn more about the science of genetics and its continuous development. Here are some facts you never know about your DNA. We’re all 99.9 percent alike, it means we’re all more similar than we are different. Our DNA is responsible for happiness and sadness. It’s in our DNA, in the form of a gene that causes some people to pay more attention to negative feelings than positive one.
This article is taken from: nationaltoday.com

Read the text and answer the following questions.
Zeina and her young brother went with their father to buy some beautiful light cords to decorate their home for
Ramadan. When they arrived home, her brother wanted to turn the lights on but Zeina stopped him asserting
that this may cause him some harm. He wondered why, so Zeina used her laptop to search the net and give him
a good answer. Here is what she found:
Human beings are a good conductor of electricity which is why electricity flows easily through our body. Our
body is made up of 70% water and electricity is known to move quickly through the water. One more fact to
remember is that electricity will always try to find the easiest path to the earth or ground.
