I’ve been reflecting a lot on the themes of Shavuot especially the idea of receiving, growth and purpose. It’s such a beautiful reminder that we are always in the process of becoming. Just like the Jewish people stood at Sinai and received Torah I feel like I’m in my own moment of receiving wisdom, traction and identity.

I ve been thinking a lot about how to bring the Jewish holidays into our home in a way that feels meaningful and lasting. For me it’s about creating rituals some maybe starting small but with intention, rituals that anchor us, like lighting candles, preparing a beautiful dinner with traditional foods and taking time to reflect and connect as a family.

My partner and I will be celebrating these holidays in the same home for the first time this year, and we have been talking about ways we can prepare our sukkah. We are both gardeners and we're excited to hopefully incorporate some of the dried plants we pull out of the garden at the end of summer. We're also looking forward to hopefully strengthening our Jewish community by having friends join us in celebrating.
