Born 1968 in Vienna, master in Physics (Vienna University of Technology).
Lives, works, and collects in Vienna, Austria.
Over the past 20 years I have worked in different positions for many major online media in Austria (trend, profil, Kurier, autorevue, WirtschaftsBlatt, boerse-exrpress.com, be24.at, ...) including as a web developer, project manager, sales manager and as an executive director.

Chladek's work makes a story that has been taken by photographs, he also adds little sentences.
Some of his work is in black and white, but most of it is maily colour.

Val Hennessy - In the Gutter

Pages: 95
Place: London
Year: 1978
Publisher: Quartet Books
Size: 20 x 26 cm (approx.)

This book’s production initially stemmed from a series of programmes on punk presented by Hennessy for ATV, which at the time of their release were described by one critic as a ‘chaotic disaster’, and by another as ‘a triumph of originality’.
Similarly, the tone of this book has been somewhat contentious, and the subject of bemused disapproval by many. However, conflicting opinions aside, the text of the book does little to compete with its strong selection of images, which depict proud and riotous London youths, clearly revelling in the freedom punk offered. Surprisingly, it is the discordant tone of In the Gutter which gives us such a vivid and particular insight into the punk movement as it was seen and (mis-)conceived from the outside.

Containing early pictures of Damned, Vibrators, Jordan, Siouxie, Sex Pistols...

The book’s production initially stemmed from a series of programmes on punk presented by Hennessy for ATV, which at the time of their release were described by one critic as a ‘chaotic disaster’, and by another as ‘a triumph of originality’.

True Stories
Sophie Calle
November 2010, Steidl & Partners,
ISBN: 978-3-86930-156-3, 128 pp

Reading and making notes on Sophie Calle’s new publication, I am trying to be attentive, but am distracted with loneliness. Writing and making are difficult. I am living awkwardly with my parents and concerned about money. As Calle put it in a 2007 interview, emotional moments such as these are “banal”; everyone can identify with them, therefore they are hardly the stuff of art. Yet, on its most directly accessible level, Calle’s work has always been about the pain of the everyday. As in my opening gambit, she often operates within the territory of emotion shared, projected publicly between strangers and acquaintances.

Since her early experiments in following strangers around Paris, from 1979 onwards, and photographing friends and visitors sleeping in her bed, documented as The Sleepers (1981), Calle has developed a reputation as a serious conceptual artist, going on to represent France at the Venice Biennale (2007) with an installation processing a recent relationship breakdown curated by her contemporary Daniel Buren. Calle’s status as a respected artist is significant given her attitude to her first works. She claimed in a 2009 interview that The Sleepers became an unintentional work of conceptual art only “when the wife of a critic told him about it. He came along. He said, ‘Is this art?’ and I said, ‘It could be.’” Calle then took notes and photographed the situation, reframing it within critical discourse. Given this tale of stumbling into a prolific performance art practice because she needed “rules”, Calle’s current recognition as a photographer equally strikes a tension between the planned and the surprising.

I like both of them as they as each have there differences such as one is in colour and one is in black and white but the main difference is when looking at the emotions that has been created you can see it differently meaning in the BW version you can see that its more of a serious shocked face and when seeing it in colour you can see that its doesnt look so serious meaning that its just a bland look that is given.

they are a good quality book that could be used for this assisignment but the downfall for it is the price of it. £59 to £99 for a photo book its expensive.
whats good about this is that you can choose different fabric colour for the hard back but you can only choose 6 colours.
it has different fonts but there are only 3 fonts which its kinda annoything if you trying to create paragraphs with fancy writing you cant.
whats good about it is that you can choose the amount of pages you can have in the book 30, 40 and 50 pages which is good so you can choose the amount of images that you are wanting in your book.

Ansel Easton Adams: was a landscape photographer and environmentalist known for his black-and-white images of the American West. He helped found Group f/64, an association of photographers advocating "pure" photography which favoured sharp focus and the use of the full tonal range of a photograph. Adams was best known for his ultra-sharp landscapes, which he achieved through the use of a 4×5 view camera. The view camera allowed Adams to adjust the film plane and the lens plane so he could control the depth of field and the size relationships of objects in the frame with tilt and rise and fall movements.

Elliot porter: introduced his older brother to photographer and gallerist Alfred Stieglitz in about 1930. Stieglitz, after seeing Porter's work, encouraged Porter to work harder. Finally, in 1938, Stieglitz presented Porter's work, taken with a Linhof view camera, in his New York City gallery, An American Place. The exhibit's success prompted Porter to pursue photography full-time. For twenty years, Porter pursued a project to publish nature photographs combined with quotes from works by Henry David Thoreau. Not until an associate introduced him to the executive director of the Sierra Club did Porter find a willing publisher. His 1962 book, In Wildness Is the Preservation of the World featured Porter's colour nature studies of the New England woods.
