I have always been an active learner. When an activity is involved in the lesson it helps me understand what the teacher is teaching. Without actively engaging in an activity it is hard for me to understand it. It also makes it more interesting when you are up and being active. An example is my 9th grade biology teacher had a dance that we would do when we were learning different parts of the body and what was inside them. This way I used this dance to remember what each one was called

I think that constructive learning is so important. It is basically like trying to understand the mistake and find a solution for it. As an example in my Algebra class when we get our test back my teacher would always go over the test and let us re work the problems that we missed. She would have us try and figure it out on our own first and then if we needed extra help she would show us our mistake. I think constructive is a much needed in an education and it really helped me.

I have always liked the idea of getting to make my own decisions. Even when you are young it feels good when you parents or teacher lets you make a decision for yourself because you are given a choice and not just told what you will do. An example of this is when we did A.R. test in school. This is where you would take a test online about a book that you read and would keep up with your points and get rewarded if you get a certain amount. I always loved how we got to pick the book we were being tested on. Even though we had to take a test we got to chose a book that was interesting to us instead of being forced to test on a book that we were given.

Authentic learning is good for students. It makes them apply school to the real world. It makes them think harder. One of my favorite activities I remember was in Chemistry class. Our teacher was doing experiments and we were learning what mixers of things can cause fires. After this lesson she had us go home and map out a layout of our house. She then had us map out an escape plan incase we ever had a fire. I had never thought about what I would do if there was a fire at my house until this assignment. It was a good real life lesson.

I was apart of a 2x National Champion cheerleading team in High School. We used cooperative learning everyday and I believe it is what lead us to winning. We had to work together in every aspect of the routine in order to get a hit. Everyone had a different role on the team but when we come together we collaborate.
