As The Telegraph has pointed out, Presley was in the middle of a successful comeback, selling out shows in Las Vegas and had just been nominated as one of the country’s Ten Outstanding Young Men by the United States Junior Chamber, an award he was particularly proud to have received. Nixon, meanwhile, who had not yet been tainted by Watergate, was experiencing a wave of popularity for vowing to get America out of Vietnam and to desegregate schools.

During the 1970's lesbians and gay males engaged in protest and a act of gay pride to change social shame. First known as "Gay Liberation" and later named as "Gay Pride Parades". It was said to be counterculture because they were trying to change the regular outlook of society and what is considered "right". It consisted of North/South America, Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. This picture has a lot of meaning and had a major impact on society because the people that were so shamed upon were standing up and trying to change the way things were. This took a lot of courage from people and changed history to what we know today.

The U.S has been trying to stop the spread of communism and when we found out about Vietnam, we didn't want it to keep spreading through south-east Asia. When North Vietnam was trying to overtake South Vietnam we couldn't allow that to happen which led to war. Not only did we have to deal with them, but it led to us having to deal with our own country and how our people felt about the whole situation. This picture has a impact on history because that was the reason we went to war with them and created more problems for ourselves, when we could have avoided it.

We were the first country to send a human to space and land on the moon. The Soviet Union was the first to have a man-made item to land on the moon. This was a major leap for us because this showed technological advancement and that we beat the Soviets to space with a human. We've been in a space race with the soviets for almost 20 years and doing this was a big accomplishment because it showed that we were technologically more advanced then the soviets and felt as a victory. And this photograph is shocking because it shows how developed we are and what the future could possibly hold.
