Last week, I travelled back home to Massachusetts to choreograph a few competition dances for some of my old students.  This year's goal is to find a studio in/around Philadelphia so I am able to fulfill my creative needs on a more consistent basis.]]> 2018-07-27 12:50:06 UTC https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284886 weinberg_a https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284888 Besides becoming the best teacher I can possibly be, one day I hope to transition out of the traditional classroom setting and find myself teaching dance at a performing arts high school.  That would be the ideal combination for me!  For now, I'll settle on learning all that I can and growing as an elementary level educator.]]> 2018-07-27 12:50:06 UTC https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284888 weinberg_a https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284889 When I'm not educating students or completing course work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.  Typically this is centered around food! I also enjoy taking my dog, Rudy, on walks around the city. Any extra time I have, I typically spend it listening to music and coming up with choreography (that may or may not ever be used).  It helps me decompress when life seems to be chaotic. I also enjoy: lounging on the beach, diving into a good book, hitting the gym, and exploring the city to find the most delicious pizza!]]> 2018-07-27 12:50:06 UTC https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284889 weinberg_a https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284890 Funny enough... I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. I used this degree to teach dance to children ages 2-18 at a dance studio in Massachusetts (where I am originally from), however, I was in desperate need of more money. I was hired to work at a special education school as a tutor, and quickly climbed the ladder by progressing to substitute teacher and finally lead teacher.  During that time I earned three Massachusetts teaching certifications: Elementary Ed. (1-6), Special Education- Moderate disabilities (Prek-8 and 5-12).]]> 2018-07-27 12:50:06 UTC https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284890 weinberg_a https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284891 Well hello there! My name is Alisha Weinberg and this is my fourth course at Gwynedd Mercy University.  I am currently pursing my Master's degree in Elementary Education so I am able to continue teaching for the School District of Philadelphia. I am originally from Massachusetts, however I recently moved back to Philadelphia (October 2016) due to needing a change of pace. Since moving back here, I believe I have found my niche and I am looking forward to furthering my educational practice through courses at Gwynedd Mercy University.]]> 2018-07-27 12:50:06 UTC https://padlet.com/weinberg_a/srm16tf78kyz/wish/271284891
