This painting was pretty rushed hence there might be a lack of detail. But I feel that overall my blending of colors here is fine and not blending in certain darker brown parts give it more detail. The color at the center part of the head is too light as I may have used too much water making it look bald at that spot.
However making this painting was pretty fun because using one stroke of paint and using water to spread it out was pretty fun, and it helped me in creating the structure of the hair (although it wasn't done as well - it looks very messy at parts).

I didn't really plan well for this painting, which would make certain parts different from the original but overall it turned out pretty well. I think I am more used to watercolor now at this stage.
I feel that I wasn't looking at this painting as a whole but instead painting it by parts which might make certain parts look awkward/ not too blended in which I will spend more time to blend it and this would make it worse sometimes.

In this painting I attempted to use the splatter technique but failed miserably (the really small dots of colors are visible there).

This painting was made using masking fluid and using only a single color of blue. I think I may have screwed up this painting in terms of proportions, the ballerina's right arm seems to be a bit thick. I feel like the legs are not as defined as it should be.
The use of masking fluid here was a pretty good experience for me, and I did use some time to plan before painting.

In this painting. It's either the fact that I used too much water/used too little water at times or that fact that I'm following the reference picture too much and spend too much time on each of them.
I would say that aesthetically this painting is fine but I wouldn't say I am satisfied with it.

This is the painting that I'm most satisfied with and the one I think I did best. Although I think its because I only used three colors and following the original was relatively easy due to its lack of detail, but I feel that I spent less time on this than I expected myself to. In this painting I tried not to blend the colors as much so there are some parts that might look awkward.
I also used the blotting technique which is really helpful in blending colors. I did attempt the splatter technique but failed too so I used by brush and twirled it around instead.

I feel like the first flower (the blue one) wasn't done as well as the second one, it doesn't look like a flower on first sight and only through the leaves and stem does it have more context to it as a flower
The second flower was slightly better I feel my use of darker colors in the middle into lighter tones give it more depth.

In this painting I rediscover my interest for watercolor in making use of water to spread out colors and the anticipation as to how the water will move giving rise to different possibilities. I feel like this painting was a great warmup before embarking on my other paintings.

In this painting I spent a lot more time because I was paying a lot of attention to the details. I used considerably less water for the eyes, eyelids and eyebrows, except for the parts around it.
Sometimes I blend too much and forget to let it dry before I add in more color, or I use too little water and the color becomes too concentrated.
I feel like the right eye is slightly darker than the left eye (I did the right eye first), which I am also more satisfied with. the left eye's outline in my opinion looks like mascara after it has been smudged in tears, and the lighter tone of color that I used for the left eye's eyelid makes it much less defined and less depth compared to the right eye. Even the use of color in the eyeball of the right eye shows more emotion as compared to the left one.

I was pretty excited to do this painting but I think it turned out bad and I didn't do it as well as I expected myself to (considering people were saying it was quite easy to do). My use of splatter technique was more successful here so I'm quite happy about it.
I feel that I used too little water which made it hard for me to fill up a lot of space in one stroke, and I should have painted some areas darker to give it more depth.

My trees here are quite bad though; the use of watercolor here makes it look very transparent. I should have used more of the pigment to make it look more opaque. The trees also look quite haphazard and messy here, but the trees do serve a purpose in making the galaxy sky more depth.

This was my last painting which I did in the least time as well as the painting of the smallest size (half of the previous sizes). Even so, I'm pretty satisfied with this painting to some extent.
However, I may have rushed it too much hence the blending for the sky right at the top may have been a bit too little and I should have used more water to make it the color less concentrated.
In return, I should have made the land and the stem in the foreground of the painting more prominent, defined and outstanding. The shadows should have been more defined too.
But overall I'm quite satisfied with this painting as a whole.

I feel that I have gotten better in watercolor and have a greater understanding of it as a medium. However, I need more experience in it to enable me to be able to determine the amount of water I need for any desired effect, and I would like to try out more techniques. In this studio I have done both wet-on-dry and wet-on-wet, the splatter and the blotting technique. I would like to explore more techniques, and use another medium on top of it.
- Use acrylic paint for splatter technique for a more opaque finish.
- Use pastel to fill and blend in spaces especially for landscapes.
- Using salt with watercolor.

From the first watercolor painting to the last I feel that my quality isn't an up, but its quite inconsistent in terms of quality and time spent on it. I do feel that my proficiency in watercolor is better than when I first started this year though.

I'm really hyped to continue using watercolor and getting better at it.
