Germany had a non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union. After this, Hitler invaded Poland and succeeded. Hitler won this war because of his new fighting method called Blitzkrieg  and because of his superior army. Germany ended up invading the Soviet Union, breaking their contract and not sharing Poland.

Germany bombed Britain attacking cities, ports, and other important areas. 1/3rd of London was destroyed and extremely quickly. This ended up not helping Germany though, and their plans fell through.

The Blitz negatively affected Germany's air force and personnel. Not much came from this and it ended up being a failure.

The battle of the coral sea was a naval and aircraft battle initiated in order to stop Japanese to invade Port Moresby. This retaliation was successful and the Japanese were overwhelmed by the United States forces.

The Battle of the Midway was Japan trying to neutralize United States as a strong naval force. This failed horribly and once again the United States overcame Japan. It helped kick off more battles to come during WWII.

The battle of Stalingrad was an attempt for Nazi Germany and its allies to take control of the Soviet Union's Stalingrad. This attempt was a failure and was detrimental to the Germans army forces. 

This battle stopped the Germans advance into the Soviet Union and prevented the Germans from gaining more power.

The battle of Okinawa was a gruesome battle with many casualties. The United States wong this battle but struggled greatly. The goal was to take over the island in order to combat Imperial Japan. They used blockades, strategic air strikes, and creating bases close to the lines. 

The battle of Okinawa helped the U.S. advance onto Japan and gave them very helpful airbases closer to the Imperial country.
