Another film that depicts class is Titanic. It shows this in the way they dress, and the quality of service they receive. The lower class is given worse rooms, on the lower levels of the ship, whereas the upper class has fancy rooms and expensive parties. It's also shown through the evacuation procedure, where the upper class was given priority. This shows how our society values our richest citizens over the lower class, even if the upper class, in this circumstance, didn't even work for their place.

We can see difference between working class and ruling class in every aspect of this film. For example in the camera movement, if we see working class, there are a lot of shots, camera is shaking, but while watching episodes with ruling class, camera is steady, and moves slowly. This may show us how people live in those places (In Panem everything is slow and stable while in district 12 everyone is rushed and unstable)

While the working class does their job and follows the societal standards, the ruling class does the thinking for them. The ruling class makes these ideas seem universal, like it is for the greater good of society. Right of the bat, we can see that the impoverished lower class people of district 12 wear very old and plain clothing. We follow Katniss Everdeen, a girl from district 12 who takes her sister's place for annual televised death match. Peeta, a boy that helped Katniss in the past is also chosen. Together make their way onto the train that will take them to the capitol to prepare for the death match. One of Marx and Engel's points was that the ruling class has means of material production as well as mental production. Those ideas of those who lack mental production are subject to the ruling classes rule. The ruling class also rule as thinkers, producers of ideas, and regulate the production and distribution of the ideas.

In the film the Capitol controls the narrative. They present the Hunger Games as a positive and celebratory experience and the uprising as a horrible tragic war. This is much like how Marx and Engel explained that the ruling class controls the public narrative to keep themselves in power.

The ruling class that came into power initially was the representative of the whole of society because it's interest was to "bring the peace".
