Leading change toward social justice would require political courage to stand firm on decisions that benefit historically underserved students, despite opposition or backlash from political bodies, influential organizations, or parts of the community that may be resistant to change. Working with rural areas as a woman POC has not been easy and I continue working on developing my courage to stand up for what I feel is right even when receiving pushback that can sometimes feel biased.
