I am from Yemen, I born in IB in a small village call al radhma. I’m 25 years old. I’m a very big fan of sports, I like to try new activities every time. The most sport I enjoy is hiking with my friends in the early morning, so I can enjoy the sunrise too. Mostly at the weekend my friends and I  go on a trip to the mountains or dissert and spend the night in our tent with less technology because we want to relax and enjoy our precious time. I also enjoy cooking; I always cook when I go on a trip with friends or family. I also adore history, politics, and news in general. I believe that there is nothing imposable, and with Perseverance, determination, and good planning we can reach the sky. And I don’t believe in dreams, I believe in goals. 
 
I have been studied at my high school in the religious Institute in Dubai and graduated with an excellent degree. I’m ongoing in the American university in Emirates , where I had a great time when I was studying on the campus as we are studying online since the pandemic started, but it’s also good. I’m experiencing a new way of learning. Our university showed great management to keep studying ongoing with the best learning quality. I’m studying BA in public relations, and I’m in my senior year. I’m planning to continue my study after graduation. I want to study a master’s degree in international relations. Then I would like also to get a Ph.D. in political science.

The first criterion for connecting principles was about the 5 skills for success presidents and successful people have and others don’t. he demonstrates the skills to the following points:
1-   Vision
2-   Pragmatism
3-   Consensus-building
4-   Charisma
5-   Trustworthiness 
John Maxell Sayed that four of these skills need connection, vision, Consensus- building, Charisma, Trustworthiness. There are some signals for connecting, extra effort, unsolicited appreciation, unguarded openness, increased communication, enjoyable experiences, emotional bondedness, positive energy, growing synergy, and unconditional love. In the end, he demonstrated the performance between achievement and the ability to connect with others. As a PR officer, I need to improve my skills and connect better with other people so my influence will be better, and it will add value to everything I do.

PR officers need to communicate with the audience in or outside the institution and influence them and own their satisfaction. As a leader in public relation or any other position, we need to have the 5 skills that can improve our leadership. The vision, Consensus- building by connecting people to work together, my charisma should be strong and effective, Trustworthiness. The other benefit I learned is the connecting signals, they are very important to PR like, say positive things, and be positive. Also, demonstrate trust, feel good about what I do, and have positive energy when being with others. As well express myself easily and more often. As well I think I need to improve these skills to influence effectively in people and to avoid disconnecting.

Connecting goes beyond words. It means connecting is way more than what we say, people need to feel, see and understand. He mentioned that there are three components with face to face communication. First the thoughts and it effect 7% of what we say. Thoughts is connecting intellectually and it’s about what others understand and it’s not about mental words only, it should include experiences. This is something I liked about what he Saied “ you should contain a piece of you”. as well he said about experiences as not only a great teacher in life, its more than that, it’s a great persuader. Secondly, emotions with 38%, it shows the way we say it and connecting emotionally with others. The words is not what we say it how we say it and how we pass that feeling to others, it’s an attitude. I liked this quote he mentioned “ a great leader wins the hearts and minds of others” with making the heart comes first as it more important. Finally,  the action with 55% effectiveness. I loved the lecture , where I really can benefit from it. I had now more knowledge and skills that I can develop and use to get batter connection and batter effectiveness with others. As a PR officer I can learn a lot from this lesson like how to be a good connector while communication, because connecting is good skill to learn but it also need attitude to presence. As a PR I need to use the three componence of face to face communication, thoughts, emotions and action. As well, knowing what will happen to the connection and communication if I lose one of the components over another one. Like knowing the words without feeling it can show a dispassionate to people. Knowing without having experiences can cause a theoretical communication. And communication can be unfounded with feeling with less knowledge. And feeling with no actions, the communication is hypocritical. As well if we do action but with no knowledge , the communication is more presumptuous. Finally, actions without feelings and emotions, the communication become like mechanical.
