I think that Mr. White is most responsible because he is the one that brought the subject of the monkey paw. I dont think Sergeant-Major Morris was intending to bring up the monkey paw because he says " Its not something worth talking."
Mrs. Morris is least responsible because she was excited and then scared. But she was also partly the reason for the sorrows the family went through because she pressured her husband to wish that they had their son back and she was setting herself up for disappointment. Herbert White was not at fault at all because after all, his life was the one taken. Herbert was just joking and making fun of the monkey paw. After everything is said, everything goes back to it being Mr.White's fault because he was told to burn the paw and he took it and kept it instead.

I think Mr.white was the most responsible.only because he made the first which and that's what killed the son. The second wish was made because he made the first wish. The third wish was made because of the second wish. So all that falls on him for making that one first wish. I think the others aren't responsible because they didn't make any wishes. I do the mom of Herbert was a little responsible but that's only cause she made them go for the third wish. So yeah the father made the most mistakes that led me to believe he was the reason for all this crazy stuff.

I truly do think that all of the events of the monkey`s paw is Mr.Whites fault.I think this because at first he is the one that mentioned to Sergant major morris about the Monkey`s Paw.Also sergant said it is nothing worth talking about. But the white family still wanted to carry on the conversation and hear what Sergant-Major Morris had to say about the monkeys paw. Also Mr.white saved the monkey paw.He saved because the Sergant tried destroying it by throwing it in the fire and letting it burn but soon as he did Mr.White took it right out the fire .So then he wished for 200 lbs so he could pay off the house payment .Well the got the money but they got it because there son died and the got all the money from buissness and other places. But if he would have just let the monkey paw burn to ahses in the fire they would have a regular life with no deaths or no accidents. He also made it hard on his wife. She thought since the first wish worked the rest would so she wished her son alive .But the father was so afraid that it would be something else so then his wife was excited and then he wished for what ever was out side knocking to vanish .But anyways the point is IT IS MR.WHITE FAULT !!!

I think it was both Herbert and Mr.Whites fault because Herbert told Mr.White to wish for 200 Pounds so they can pay off the house but he won't correct about saying it and so 200 pounds fell onto Herbert head and killed him. It is Herbert fault because he told him and gave him that idea. It is also Mr.White fault because he is the one that wished for it and so it happened and killed him so it was truly both of their fault. I think it is also more Mr.White fault because he is the one to keep the monkey paw instead of getting rid of it. He is also responsible because he is the one that wished for it and did not say it correctly and so he got what he wished for so that is his fault. He also tried to not us it a again be his wife truly make him and he did not know how his son would come back looking son when he heard knocking at the door he tried to make his wife not to go down there because they would not know how he looked after the wish so he used his third to wish what ever is at the door to go away. So this is manly his fault because he wished for it and you get what you wish for. So it was two people fault for what happened but it was manly Mr.White because his wished for it and was not wise about he said.

I think Mr.white is the most responsible along with Herbert, Mr.white is the one who kept the paw and didn’t listen too carefully to Sergeant Morris’ words but Herbert kind of pushed him into making the first wish that caused the sorrow. Mr. White saw when Sergeant Morris had thrown the paw into the fire to get rid of it and honestly he should have just left it there. But Herbert shouldn’t have given him the suggestion of wishing for 200 pounds, even though he didn’t know that his life would be taken. Mrs White and Sergeant Morris are really not to blame. All Mrs. White wanted was her family to be together and happy she didn’t really care about the paw until Herbert died. But Sergeant Morris although he brought it into the house he warned the family about it and even mentioned that one of the men that used it had died. Honestly if Mr. White had listened carefully maybe Herbert would still be alive.

I think all the characters except Herbert White and Mrs. White are responsible of the actions from the Monkey's Paw. Herbert is not responsible for his death due to his father's wishes . He always doubted the monkey's paw. When the Father said it moved in his hand Herbert said" It must have been your imagination father " this shows Herbert's ways of not beileving in the Paw . Also when Herbet said " Well I don't see any money and I bet I never shall " it shows he almost had little intrest in the paw also. The Sergeant was responsible because if he was a real friend who cared about the White's he wouldv'e done everything he could to make sure they wouldn't make the mistakes that he made. I think it's mostly Mr.Whites fault though , he was warned about the danger of the paw but still made a wish , not knowing the consequences . Mrs. White is inoccent to me the only reason she made her husband make the second wish was because she wanted her son back and wanted to redo the wrong in the suitation. She lost her son over a simple mistake . However she did contribute to the events so maybe everyone learned a lesson.

I think that Mr. White, was responsible, even though he was kind of persuaded by his son, he didnt know what to wish for; he didnt have to wish, but it was mainly their curiosity. But Mr. White was the one who made the wish, he wasnt made to do it. He also ignored what the Sergeant had said about making wishes and using it and how it affected the way the Sergeant came to have it. But, also Mr.White didnt think that something bad would happen. He didnt take the wish seriously or thought about the bad that would come with his wish. He wasnt expecting anything bad to come from wishing for two hundred pounds. I think he is responsible for what happened; I think each character has a part, whether small, on this; but Mrs.White.

Even tho he knew wishing on the monkeys paw was dangerous he still tried to sell it .He did not want to tell them about the history of it because they might not want to buy it so he told them only some of the history.I also think it is Mr.Whites fault too because he was told about the paw and he still took it then he did not listen to sergeant major when he told him that the person that made the paw wanted to show that fate ruled peoples lives and those who interfered did so with their sorrow. But he still made a wish for 200 pounds and fate came Herbert died and they got the 200 pounds because of his death and their wish came true not the way they would have liked it to but it did .Mr. White didn't listen

Yet if Sergeant-Major-Morris didn't bring the monkeys paw to them in the first place then the White family wouldn't have any sadness in the first place. Although i dont think that Mr. and Mrs. White deserved to lose their son like that not for 200 pounds anyway. Also instead of taking responsibility of their actions they tried to make another wish on bringing their son back, when they should've just let him rest peacefully in his grave over all i think it was the fathers fault

I think Mr. White is the most responsible. Mr. White was the one who wished with the paw and he was also the one who took it against Sergeant-Major Morris’ advice. Sergeant-Major Morris tried to burn it in the fire and he told Mr. White several times to get rid of it and not to take it. Mrs. White and Herbert were kind of skeptical of the monkey’s paw. While Sergeant-Major Morris was explaining the monkey’s paw, he said that it was made to show that fate ruled people’s lives and if you interfered with it, you would be sorry. Mr. White heard all of this and still took it. Herbert suggested wishing for money, but he was just giving suggestions. Mr. White was the one who actually wished on the monkey’s paw and who took it in the first place.

I believe that no one is fully responsible for all of the grief the Whites had to deal with. If I had to choose just one I would choose Mr. White. He had the power in him to make the wish or not. Also Sergeant Major Morris warned him about a few consequences of the paw. His son introduced the idea of the first wish, but he did not have to let greed persuade him. His wife didn't have much say in the whole decision making until the 2nd wish was granted. Mr. White also was the one who started the conversation about the monkey paw. I wouldn’t put all of the true blame upon Mr. White because of the other characters’ persuasion, but Mr. White seems to have the best description on who's most responsible.

I believe that Mr.White should be held responsible. Yes, Sergeant-Major Morris was the one who gave him the paw and did know the consequences, but that does not make him responsible for the actions that Mr.White causes. After warning Mr.White about the consequences, Sergeant-Major Morris attempts to throw the paw into the fire. After Mr.White sees that he digs it out , wanting these three wishes .The sergeant states , “If you keep it don't hold me responsible for what happens.” This alone says that he did his job of warning him. Then, Mr.White wishes something anyway. And the monkey paw did its job of demonstrating that you should not mess with fate. And they interfered, so they suffered the sorrow of losing their only child, and their happiness.

I think that its Mrs.Whites fault because even after her son had died, she continue to wish for him to come back alive not thinking about the consequences of wishing. Then when Mr.White "stopped" the knocking,it caused her to have even more sorrow.Losing the chance to see her son,or not to see her son(in another state of form.

I think Sergeant Major and Mr.White are responsible for the sorrows that resulted from wishing on the monkey’s paw. Sergeant major is responsible because he’s the one that brought it into their house. And he showed Mr.White how to use the monkey’s paw. If Sergeant Major was Mr.White's friend he could've taken the paw away from him since he knew the trouble it caused. Mr.White is responsible because he got it out the fire after Sergeant Major threw it in there and he wished for the 2 hundred pounds when he knew the consequences. He also didn’t think about his wishes before he had asked for his first wish. Herbert and Mrs.White didn’t have much responsibility for the tragedy they faced but they could have also talked to Mr.White about the wishes he could make or they could have suggested reasons for Mr.White not to use the paw since they all heard the story Sergeant Major was telling and he had warned them about it.

I think that Mr. White is the one who is most responsible for the sorrows that resulted from wishing on the monkey’s paw. Sergeant-Major Morris warned him of what might happen if he didn’t “throw it on the fire like a sensible man.” Sergeant-Major Morris tried to convince Mr. White not to take it, but he was stubborn and kept it anyways. He told Mr. White not to hold him responsible for what happens. He also told them that the things they wish for come very naturally, even so some things you don’t even connect the two together. Mr. White wished for 200 pounds, to pay off his house. Later, after Herbert left for work, Mrs. White saw a mysterious man standing near the gate. He was well dressed and looked very unsure about entering, considering if he was the right one to deliver the news, that their son was dead. If they hadn’t made that wish, the next two would not have happened and Herbert would still be alive.
