Summary:
Jesus calls himself "the light of the world" and demonstrates the truth of his claim by bringing light physically and spiritually to a man who hasnt sinned who was born blind.
Purpose:
One clear purpose of miracles was to authenticate the character of Jesus and that he cared about his people, so he wanted to help them. Also, Jesus wanted to prove that god is real and to show his relationship with his heavenly Father.
Meaning:
The lesson that we learned is that sometimes we blame ourselves when in reality it is not our fault, it is just apart of Gods plan.
Current/Modern Day Teaching Value:
Some people are born different than others or are slower/faster than others in school. They tend to blame themselves but in reality no one should be singled out as different.
