         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Marie Skłodowska Curie was a Polish and naturalized-French physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity.</li><li>In 1898, Marie and her husband discovered two new elements: polonium and radium</li><li>In 1903, Marie and her husband were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery of radioactive elements. They shared this with another French scientist called Becquerel</li><li>Marie Curie became the first woman to win the Nobel Prize. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1911 was awarded to Marie Curie "in recognition of her services to the advancement of chemistry by the discovery of the elements radium and polonium, by the isolation of radium and the study of the nature and compounds of this remarkable element".</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
