The main drivers toward gentrification is educated young middle-income people. These people were the reason gentrification took over Santa Ana because they were part of the working class community and it was cheaper before gentrification but since businesses saw the increase in middle income workers they decided to urbanize it. This increased the prices in Santa Ana in general.

This article is stating that gentrification is a cool concept but at the same time it’s costing people’s job. So, the author of this article demonstrates the positive and negative sides of gentrification. The pro is that it can improve the economy. The con that the author listed was that stores that are located in the community are the ones that are going out of business and that’s why it’s a issue for most people. As a result, customers will have to pay more for the products or services that the new stores have to offer.
