I used them last year, but I didn't use them in a very rigorous or academic way (I had students create and post memes about the literature and used a padlet as the landing site for that activity). I heard a saying once that "Whoever is doing most of the work in the classroom is also doing most of the learning," and I think that's very true. This did prove to be justified- the last 7 weeks have been a lot of work to do my classwork, finish my duties as a teacher and as the yearbook sponsor, and try to  have some summer fun with my son. This week, in fact, I've been at the beach with my extended family for our annual vacation and have had to work a little more than I would usually. I'm not generally apprehensive about technology, but I do think we're getting at a point where we maybe have enough for a while. My best guess, though, is that Virtual and Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence will be big players in the technology of the future.
