Approaching the planning of the design to my web page, i previously researched conventional merchandise items that are often seen on artist website page's. I looked at the website link to the record label "Rocnation". Rocnation is one of the most supported and revolutionised record label out there; representing artists that are currently at their pinnical point of their career; including Jay Z, the most renowned hip hop artist to currently live. Upon inspection of this website i visited the link to the store. Every item that was listed was what i originally expected.
The sold caps with the artist/record label logo stitched in. Possibly i could incorporate this element into my own work and use the idea of screen printing which comes at cheap prices and easy to mass produce. I also saw stylish hoodies and T-shirts that represented the record label/ artist and they were presented as some one actually wearing the items, and the items folded in piles. This felt more appropriate because it allows the audience to see if it might look good on themselves because on the off chance the person purchasing the item might have the same hair or skin colour as the model wearing the item in the image. Roc nation had a whole shopping section that provided the customer with full outfits that were produced with the logo to promote the artist on every item. However i believe there was something still missing from merchandise that an artist will sell. I was thinking about what people would wear if they were actually at one of the artist concerts/ performances.

However, i still believe that there was conventional items missing from merchandise list that an artist would sell. on further development i was thinking about what people would wear if they were actually at one of the artists concerts/performances. I know that at performances, there will be specific spot lighting and that lighting will not be directed on the audience because the artist is supposed to be the centre of attention and by putting all the light on stage you are drawing the audiences gaze in a specific direction. as an audience member, and being in a huge crowd, you may get lost and cant see to map and direct yourself around. Having a flash light may come handy in these situations. If i was to attach these mini flash lights to headwear then it will mean that where ever you look is illuminated with light. This will also be very efficient when if you ever manage to lose grip of your flash light in a huge crowd constantly bumping into you. If i was to also color the flash light to a more conventional and relevant colour that relates to the artist. The color green is a common colour that my audience will come across when researching my artist (Melia). This is also the color scheme of Melia's new album "Set It off". The flash light glasses can come in collaboration with the new album.

Of course, i had to create a design for the more conventional items (the cap and top) and simply photoshopped the artists face and name to promote the artist and create a brand logo. When editing these photographs i of course wanted them to look realistic and look like these images actually were printed onto he material. I responded to this by selecting the warp toll to move around and bend the image. this gives the impression that the image is being shaped by the folds and ripples in the material and also the roundness of the item as it is of course a three dimensional object.
