It is not just migrant workers, it can be anyone that steals. There could be students who shoplift or people who just do not have the funds to afford certain items. We should not just assume all migrant workers are thieves.

Migrant workers can often get injured or muscle pain while doing their job. For example a migrant worker who fell off a two level floor had has his arm injured, though he has gotten a medical mc for 2 weeks, his boss only allowed him to rest for 1day. Thus by having a SG accident help centre, migrant workers can hopefully get enough rest and medical treatment.

The mistreatment the migrant workers had to go through. Though they worked a lot their salary would be only $500 after 22-23months

It would be very devastating/heartbreaking and it would be like there is no justice involved. I would feel bad as some I care about is being wrongly judged

People who do not have enough money to buy things. There is an assumption that only migrant workers steal as they have low wages and people would think that they would resort to stealing since they cannot afford it.

I think it is because the migrant workers fear that they may not be able to afford the healthcare if they go to the usual clinics and doctors. But since SG Accident help Center provides free healthcare, the migrant workers will be able to go there if they are in need of any help without any additional charges. So they will feel more comfortable and financially secure if they go there instead. This is because the agents charge them a lot of money just to come to Singapore to work and the money they make has mostly gone to the agents again. They also work strenuous and intense jobs such as cleaners and they do construction. Some of these jobs include having to be in gondola lifts to pull them up to high buildings and platforms. They may get injured or fall from these jobs. Which may be vey dangerous. And if they cannot afford to pay for their injuries they cannot work. The video shows the man not being able to go back to work as he would be given 2 weeks of medical leave but his boss only allows for like a day. This is very unfair treatment towards the migrant worker. Thus, they are being taken advantage of because the agents know they cant afford to leave work.

The migrant workers fear that they might not be able to afford the treatments. This shows the empathy and compassion towards the migrant workers because they do lots of strenuous work. There is little rest days at the same time, their daily allowance is not even sufficient so this make it so that they feel more comfortable and will be financially secure at SGCARE.

1. Unfair treatment to the migrant workers(Low salary), the amount of work given to the migrant worker were too much for them to handle
2. I would be very annoyed as my loved one is being judged wrongly for something that he/she did not do, thus having no justice for them.

In our opinion, it’s usually those who desperately need food and clothes will steal as they might not have enough money from their jobs. Most of the migrant workers are not from Singapore and the wage earned is very little, hence people automatically assume that they will be the ones stealing items.

Migrant workers work at dangerous places and are prone to injuries. And their employers are also mistreating them. For example, the migrant worker was hammering the wall, then the wall fell on him and he got injured. He went to the doctor to get MC for 2 weeks but his employer only told him he could only get 2 day rest.
