Stage 1: Ordinary World - Setting

Blue Blob loves his life. It is everything he wants and knows. It's a bright colorful world filled with other vibrant blobs who fill every inch of his life with color. He works as a community painter at a small art company. Work takes up most of his time but he doesn't mind; he is happy.

Stage 1: Ordinary World - Personality

Blue Bob needs color to survive, without it he may get depressed or dull. When around his friends, family, and coworkers, he's a blob of joy, friendly, and helpful who creates new art pieces to display throughout town. After placing down a new art display, he likes to watch it, and observe how each and every blob reacts to his piece, whether it's a simple glance at it as they roll to work or stop and stare to read the meaning behind the piece. No matter what he always stays glowing with a bright blue and has never been seen a muted pale grey.

Stage 2: Call to Adventure

While observing his new artwork in the plaza a dull pale image stopped to look at his sculpture from the street. The blurry blob inched forward with interest in the brightly colored strokes of paint splattered across the piece. Blue Blob watches carefully as the figure didn't seem from around his colorful town. Interested in where the dully colored blob emerged from, he decided to approach it. Rolling slowly towards the street, the dusty colored blob turns moving quite quickly. Unaware of where he might find himself, Blue Blob tumbles after him through the painted streets, into the trees, and down alley ways. He emerges in a colorless world of greys and white. Disoriented by the suspicious environment, he plunges back to his safe place.

Stage 3: Refusal of the Call - Resources

Helping that colorless world turn bright is the only thing he wants but that means taking resources from his own town. The supplies he would need are costly as well as crucial to maintaining the color of his own town. He needs tools to fix the world but he can't just take them.

Stage 3: Refusal of the Call - Comfort

Being the friendly Blob he is, he wants to help, but that means leaving the safety and comfort of his own home, something he is hesitant to do. He doesn't know what is out there and he doesn't want to find out. This town is the only place he has known is entire life.

Stage 3: Refusal of the Call - Alternative

Maybe Blue Blob is able to recruit someone else to do it. Someone braver can make the change, Blob is unwilling to do. But this would mean putting his friend in possible danger. Another alternative could be to form a group to tackle the issue. However, a group of unknown Blobs may seem threatening. They could think that they are at risk of losing their world to some people they don't know.
