#1 How and Why did your family come to the United States?

My great great Maternal grandparents came to United States by boat from Norway. They wanted a new oppurtunity in America at the thought of a new and better life. And my Daternal side's family came to America on a ship from Northern Europe. And they wanted to live in a free world without taxes.

#2 What were the obstacles that your family met?

An obstacle that my Maternal family met once they reached the Americas was finding work. They ended up moving South and starting a farm. An obstacle that my Daternal family met was my great grandpa moving to California from Texas by train looking for a job.

#3 What was going on Historically in the U.S. during this time and did it affect your family?

My Maternal family came to the Americas before the Great Depression and they weren't struggling as bad as others. As for my Daternal side, one of my ancestors came over from Sweden in 1874 to help build Southern Pacific Railroad, which revolutionized transportation in the United States.
