Lauren Valentina Avila

I was 20 years old in 2020, I had studied nursing in the SENA, but I didn't feel like it was what I liked. Before the pandemic, I looked for what I liked so that and could find a career I enjoyed and remembered that I was very interested in technology. Since I was very young is very good at handling any program and computers, so I chose systems engineering at Catholic University of Colombia for studying something I was passionate about, because it had that career accredited with high quality and because is a friend recommended the university to me.

When I started my career and thought it  is was going to be very easy because we saw some subjects as very easy, but then COVID-19 and I don't remember much about my life in those two years, and my life changed a lot in every way. However, today I'm very clear about my dreams. I’ve already finished my subjects, and it was very difficult because I had to work at the same time, which made it even more difficult, so I was sad many times, but managed to finish my degree I so finished this dream.

Finally, my obligations in my career are to have clear concepts when and when I worked so that I can provide high quality solutions and always be up to date on new things that are created or any information that is updated. On the other hand, I believe that what is most important in the role of a systems engineer is information security and prohibiting the misuse of technologies and devices. For these partners, I recommend my colleagues and future colleagues to always be one step ahead and investigate more than what is learned so that they can stay updated in all.

Emerson Steven Toledo Becerra

Before entering university I was very clear about the career I wanted to study, all thanks to my mother who is currently a systems engineer. From a very young age she sayd me what it was like to study computers and it is redundant that she graduated from the Catholic University of Colombia, she told me about great experiences and that it was a very good university. 

 When I entered the Catholic University of Colombia, I was not so lost since I came from a previous university, Colombian School of Engineering, which taught me very good foundations to handle everything about my career. In my first two weeks I made friends but we had to separate for covid pandemic. Today I feel very full of energy and I have more know about how to work on projects and codes for my career. 

My obligations within the university were always to study, arrive early, complete tasks and be very responsible. Working I know a lot of areas thanks to my work within a company, this has helped me to manage different points of view of work as a professional. 

Through those four years, I've learned many things. I was taught by both good and bad professors, and I experienced happy and stressful situations, such as working on my thesis. However, the most important things were the friends I made and the knowledge I gained. On the other hand, the career has been challenging because, when I started studying systems engineering, I asked myself, 'What does a systems engineer do?' To this day, I still don't have the answer, haha. 

As a student and professional in the field of systems, I have to study regularly and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field. I also understand that I don't have to work alone; I can collaborate with classmates and colleagues to solve complex problems. I might not always find learning new programming languages easy, but persistence is key. 

To create this app, we need resources mainly money and technology, also support from different public entities and universities,  the reasons are to making and promote the app and need the government or communities to lauch the app in general, and the principal tool is the tecnology to create the app and give the points. This app will encourage more people to recycle and protect  the enviroment and climate change.  

This proposal is very different and very accessible to everyone today because the creation of a mobile app that helps people manage thing haven’t  been used for a long time, kepping in mind that it’s an activity that isn’t habitual and it’s very difficult to make it routine, for this reason the app would have a reward system already mentioned  in this previous pararagraph.

• Solid Waste: Residues or materials found in homes, industries and businesses when the principal objective is recycled. 

• EcoFriendly: Products safe for enviroment 

• Pollution:  Substance or products dangerous for environment 

• Reward system:  It a method in a game or activity where you get something you do something so good. 

• Mobile App: Is a software that is designed to run on a mobile device, such as a smartphone, iphone or tablet and it provides specific fuctions or services. 

• Accessibility: It means making something usable by as many people as possible withouth seeing  their conditions. 

• FeedBack: Is a opinions, comments, or suggestion that people give about somenthing.  

• Features: Specific characteristics or functionality that define an object.  

• Mockup: Visual representation or prototype of a mobile app or web page. 

• BarCode: Visual representation between black bars and spaces that it has information of product and found in packets 

3. Implementing Innovation  
 
The plan is: 

How the app will work and what features it will have, we have to talk with experts and get ideas, also we must to meet with the affected societies in this case communities in Engativa this is for identify what are their needs. 
 
Do the next step: 
 
We will create the idea of the app and will start to design and program the application, we test the app and verify all works well . We also start talk to promote people of Engativa about the app, we need to create advertisement and expand the idea.  
 
Check: 
 
Then we check the app is working, we verify how many people are using the app and if they recycle more. We ask for opinions or feedback about the app and fix any problems.  
 
Act:  
 
Finally we improve the app in based of feedback, we also think about more updates or features and find how more people use the app.  An important aspect is to evaluate that people make use of the application as a habit in their lives and manage to reduce the production of material that can be reused.
