At times I was unsure as to which slide show was which, in addition to some PowerPoint files containing the exact same info/format as others.

I really appreciated the workbook since it made evaluation steps very clear, however for each exam I often felt like this gif because I tended to overthink simple concepts.

I think I am now walking away with the skill of just writing down my thoughts and ideas. This sounds very basic, but the perfectionist in me always wanted a single right answer. In the beginning I would spend so much time looking for a right answer that it was hindering other aspects of my program and evaluation. This course has definitely forced me to become more innovative with my solutions which I appreciate, although it has caused a lot of sleepless nights :) -Amber

I would have liked some other component in addition to just the intervention to demonstrate understanding of the material. I feel like I was at a disadvantage because I chose a "weird" topic where there was a lot of "creative" interpretation of principles. If there were Canvas quizzes or something, I'd worry less about being penalized for not applying the class materials "correctly."

I second making sure we are ending on time. There were many times the class ran over making it difficult for those of us who are working, especially when there was an attendance expectation and the last minutes of class were used to share important updates. While we worked up to the exams in small groups, it might've been useful to have smaller assignments in between to help with accountability and ensuring the different steps/tasks for the exams were completed. There were times that small group members didn't present because they didn't have anything completed leaving other members with the burden of carrying the small groups; having assignments in between where students had to show they were making progress could have kept everyone accountable for having something to present.

Class Highlights: I really enjoyed learning how to apply/tie the theories/methods/measures into practice through class presentations and exams. The class really ushered me to be creative in developing an intervention that would be helpful as I continue my PhD program here at UTHealth (I'm hoping this intervention can be delivered in the future). In general, this class equipped me to create an evidence-based program with feasible steps such as identifying key stakeholders, setting(s) and context (making sure program aspects are culturally relevant), designing (e.g., delivery vehicles), evaluating the program, and using valid and reliable scales for measures. I believe all aspects (materials) of the class are all necessary in planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs. Thank you teaching team for such an awesome class! PS- The small group sessions were really helpful, too. I enjoyed learning and collaborating with my Group 4 colleagues :)

Just some practical suggestions I could think of to continue to enhance the class include organizing the Canvas modules section to make it more clear for students when they access the materials (e.g., Module 1, Week 1, Step 1) and keeping the time at 11:20 (or if there are crucial announcements, maybe share it with the class prior to going into small groups). Overall though, I enjoyed the class and learned so much from the teaching team and my other student colleagues. Thank you all and I hope you all have a great summer ahead!
