         <title>Why is water so important?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Not only do we need water to stay alive, we need it for everyday task that we may not even realize needs water. The following are just some of the reasons why water is so important:<br>-We drink water to stay Hydrated  and for all our bodily functions to function properly,Alongside maintaining temperature, growth of tissue etc…  think of water like oil to a machine it  will have a hard time moving without the oil to help it  move fluently.<br>- All living things need water to grow water makes up when is it fundamental building blocks for living organisms all across the plant.<br>-Hygienic purposes water is essential to this because we use it to basically clean almost any and everything that we use dispose of or recycle in our everyday lives without it cleaning would be a struggle<br>-It is a source of power; hydro-power.          <description><![CDATA[<div>As we all know, water is made up of two hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecules; but do you know where water came from? Water comes from the abundance of hydrogen and oxygen molecules within the universe. When stars form, molecules form together making H<sub>2</sub>0. Over time after our star form at some point in history our planet was given the molecule of water. </div>]]></description>

         <title>How much water is there really?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The ocean covers more than 70<strong> </strong>percent of the surface of our planet. Yet, 97<strong> </strong>percent of the Earth's water can be found in our oceans. So even though there is plenty of water, only .3 percent of that water can be used by humans. The other 99.7 percent of the water is either in the ocean, icecaps, or in the atmosphere. Unfortunately humans are not able to drink salt water or use it the same way we use it fresh water. Drinking, farming, ingredients in supplies, etc are all fresh or filtered water, not salt. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Water crisis in America</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Water crisis doesn't just happen in third world countries, it happens right here in America. Over the passed couple of weeks we have been talking about the lead issues here in america. As we know Flint, Michigan’s water has been an issues for years now leading to death and sickness. But the real fact is that many cities across the U.S are dealing with the same issues, even here in Philadelphia. Not only is the water dangerous to drink, many homes cannot afford their water bill. According to Vox, 14 million households in the U.S are having trouble paying their water bill leaving their taps dry. That is 12 percent of homes in America. If we were to change the piping in older parts of cities and make water bills cheaper these problems will be solved.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Water crisis around the world. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Water is necessary to survive, yet, 40 percent of the world population is affected by water scarcity. The following are four accounts of water crisis around the world:<br>- In Cape Cod, South, Africa around a million houses no longer have running water. There has been a three year running drought which been “limiting people to a mere 13 gallons (50 liters) per person per day—has made a difference. (To put this into perspective, an average U.S. citizen uses 100 gallons (375 liters) per day.)” People can no longer flush their toilets or take showers more than twice a week.  <br>-After the Wildfires in California that lasted for a little over a week and a half with 3 firefighter injuries and 86 civilian fatalities affecting more than 153,336 acres of land, a heavy amount of rainfall fell over California. All this rain caused mudslides that killed more than 20 people and destroyed hundreds of homes. <br>- Around 24 of the 29 states in India are dealing with some short of water issue. Over 600 million people in India are facing some short of water shortage and date reveals that it is only getting worst. “Around 200,000 Indians die every year because they have no access to clean water, according to the report.” Since water is needed to grow food and sustain animals, their food security is threatened.<br>-Lastly, 80 percent of Sudan, a country in South Africa) is used for agricultural. 97% of their water is used for agriculture. Woman and children have to devote much of their times to go gather fresh water and bring it back to their families. This is a very dangerous task. Only 2% of Sudan's water is used for domestic use. Water borne diseases kill many of Sudan’s people a year. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Most of the water issues that are happening around the world are not from an abundance of lead in the water like how it is in the U.S. The issues around the world mainly caused by an absence of water supply. Bad piping is the main contributor to lead problems here in the U.S but in other countries, droughts or no excess to clean fresh water is the problem.</div>]]></description>

Climate change also ”increasing air and water temperatures, more intense precipitation and runoff, and intensifying droughts can decrease river and lake water quality in many ways, including increases in sediment, nitrogen, and other pollutant loads.” </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Water holding capacity</strong>-  Water holding test tells us the amount of water that can be held .</div><div><strong>pH</strong>- pH tells us how soluble the water is.</div><div><strong>Calcium</strong>- Calcium shows me how much the plants are get for their cell walls.</div><div><strong>Magnesium- </strong>Magnesium helps with chlorophyll molecules linked to the photosynthesis </div><div><strong>Potassium- </strong>Potassium helps with many enzymes and regulation of pH. </div><div><strong>Sulfur and sulfates-  </strong>Sulfur in even mass amounts can be bad for the plant and result in stunted  growth in the plant.</div><div><strong>Phosphorus- </strong>Phosphorus is the levels of sail in the soil that can be absorbed into the plant, not much is absorbed thought.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Water crisis is definitely an environmental justice issue.  We should be able to rely on water since it is one of the things we need to live yet, many people are dying from it or the lack thereof. We have not been treating our water or our water sources with care and now it is too late for many people.<br><br>A question we have is, is it too late to fix the scarcity of water problem around the world?</div>]]></description>
