A "Least Restrictive Environment" is when a child with disabilities receives an education with there peers who may not have a disability. Damian was placed in a first grade class room and from what I saw he was very similar to his peers. He was able to learn and grow right beside kids his age. This opportunity was very big thing for him in helping build his confidence and I would not have know that if his parent's not said anything. I saw that he could interact with kids his age and follow what the teacher was teaching. I also saw his peers accepting him for who he was and supporting him in every way they could.

IEP standard for Individualized Education Plan. This is a document or plan that shows the educations, support, and activities they may need to take part in to further themselves in school. A benefit of this would be that it helps to improve specific skills. It also offers legal protection to the student and parents. Often it also helps build up the child's self esteem and improve how they do in school. The components of an IEP are to find the current skill level of the student, create annual goals for the student, tracking the progress of the student, special education serviced for the student, how long are the services for the student, participate in mainstream classrooms, test the adaptions for the student, and finally create a transition statement for the student.
Sources-https://www.understood.org/en/school-learning/special-services/ieps/what-is-an-iep
https://www.verywellfamily.com/essential-parts-of-an-individual-education-program-2162702
