Montag begins to search for the meaning of his life in numerous works of literature that was completely forbidden because of the society's fear that peace would be broken. Many of Guy Montag's friends and his wife thought he was being reckless and becoming a danger to their ignorant society, but Montag believed it was the only way to find true meaning in his life and the world around him. Anthony was a social reformer who pushed heavily for women's rights and played a pivotal role in the women's suffrage movement. During her time as a social activist, Anthony was heavily criticized by men and even some women who believed her ideas were destructive to the traditional society that had lasted for generations. Despite many criticisms, Anthony pushed on and was able to open the door for all people for equality no matter the gender or the color of their skin.
