They describe the origin, content and context of sources, and explain the purpose of primary and secondary sources. Students compare sources to explain the accuracy, usefulness and reliability of sources as evidence. They sequence events and developments to explain causes and effects, and patterns of continuity and change across societies and time periods. They describe perspectives, attitudes and values of the past, and suggest reasons for different points of view. They explain historical interpretations about significant events and people. Students use historical knowledge, concepts, terms and references to evidence from sources to create descriptions, explanations and historical arguments.

1.    You will create an imageboard comparing elements of The Black Death and Coronavirus.
Your submission must include a minimum of four images in total.

2.    You will write a description for each image, and you will analyse how the image portrays either The Black Death or Coronavirus (Covid-19).

(Bubonic Plague Symptoms, History.com)

The Bubonic Plague is one of three types of plague recorded during The Black Death, the other variants included the pneumonic plague and septicaemic plague. The Bubonic Plague is caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis, which was transmitted by fleas that covered rats. The Bubonic Plague spread to humans because of poor hygiene, and living conditions. The disease Y pestis moves quickly from the site of infection into the lymphatic system. The impact of the spread can be seen in the above image (History.com) where people would have swollen painful lumps or buboes, that were found mostly under their arms, neck, and groin. People in medieval times did not have a high survival rate when the Black Plague spread, with an estimation of 200 million people as the death toll, The survival rate relates to my next image which looks at the statistics of the Black Death in Europe and Asia.
