The Peneda-Gerês National Park is located in the north of Portugal, near the border with Spain. Its steep hills are home to deer, wolves and golden eagles. The park has several trails, including a Roman road with milestones. Gerês is a seaside resort from the s. XVII which is located near the park. Lindoso is a traditional town with a medieval castle and stone granaries. To the north, the sanctuary of Our Lady of Peneda, from the s. XIX, is located at the end of a long staircase.
