When there’s enough people in the protest some people take advantage of the chaos to create more chaos (killing, murder, crime) which also influences the social norms negatively in the sense that it’s okay to commit crimes during this time of chaos and the motivation is usually because everyone’s doing it and they won’t face

The boys progressively stray farther and farther from society as months go by on the island due to their lack of authority and attempts at recreating society as well as survival. As young boys they're not as experienced in the world as adults and their minds are easily shaped because  they haven't developed morals. LOTF being on a stranded island and LWG surviving a war but both were affected by their exposure to the wild/violence of the rebels and jack killing the pigs/hunters which in the end made them stray from society after being separated from society.
