I have a long background in office administration but have been so happy to transition professionally into anti-oppression work in education.

I've spent many years studying antiracism, Whiteness and social change and in 2013 began professional work in diversity and social justice education. This work included giving course lectures, training faculty/staff/students, writing grants, coordinating conferences, shaping policy and curriculum, student advocacy and development and more.

Much of this work has been within or connected to academia and the broad helping professions (social work, counseling, medicine, law, education, etc). Through all of my relationships, through the journal articles I've read, through things I hear at conferences - I see connecting threads across all of these professions, from training to practice to scholarship. They are all attempting to do the same thing and they are all failing in similar ways.
