         <title>Additional 64GB micro SD and cases for Audiomoths</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Audiomoths are very simple automatic recording units that consist of just a electronic board. They are currently used in PhD student projects in the Dept for survey of birds and bats (mainly in mine and Toni's group, at present Pavan C and Marie D) and have been used in others. Dept bought additional Audiomoths so we now have about 150 of them. Also casings were purchased at the time but not for all devices. According to the deal at the time I have  purchased rechargeable batteries for all 150 devices and also 64GB microSD cards, but we still do not have memory cards for all. At present, we lack 18 of these memory cards (~€10/pc). Also having some additional cases IPx7 protective cases would be good. Without a case, the Audiomoths are placed in a plastic bag only, so the cases could be a good investment to protect the device.          <title>Handheld Spectrometer for Light Measurement,340-1000nm </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Quantity, but also quality of light impacts all life forms on Earth. At the moment, our department does not have any spectrometers for field or laboratory work. We would need light spectral readers for diverse plant ecology related projects (Riitta Nissinen, Marjo Helander, Aino Kalske, likely also Satu Ramula), but these devices would be useful also in microbiology (Riitta Nissinen, PhD students) and I would imagine also in other ecologial studies and for example testing light environment in illuminated growth chambers.</p><p><br></p><p>These would also be great addition to any field course - in that case, having 2-3 of these at the department would be good. </p><p><br></p><p>The item I listed is an example of possible devices (I have used similar ones previously, but could not find the exact same model), can look further for optimal options.          <title>Portable light microscope with video camera &amp; battery for field work / fish embryo experiments </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This is a cheap portable microscope with a good camera (still images &amp; video) that would be ideal for field work as well as laboratory exposures of fish embryos and larvae. The device can be easily placed in temperature-controlled room (e.g. +25 for zebrafish, +4-12 for salmonids), avoiding the need of e.g. self-made water baths for temperature control. In addition to power cable, it also has a battery and could therefore be used for field work as well. Users would be at least Katja Anttila and her group, and Eeva-Riikka Vehniäinen. There is at least one course I would like to use it as well (FYGE4062, course work with zebrafish embryos).          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Hankintaehdotus: Analyysitietokone MinION Mk1D -sekvensointilaitteelle. </strong>Tietokone soveltuu myös laitoksen yhteiskäyttöön muihin analyysitarkoituksiin.</p><p><br/></p><p>Laitokselle hankittiin vuonna 2025 Oxford Nanoporen MinION Mk1D-sekvensointilaite (NGS, long reads), jota käytetään sekä tutkimuksessa että opetuksessa (FYGE2045, 5430). Laitteen käyttöön tarvitaan hieman tehokkaampi tietokone, jotta sekvensointilaite toimii varmasti ja pystyy tekemään mm. base calling-toiminnon onnistuneesti.
