"You're not busy right now, are you?"&nbsp;<br>"No." Another pause. He was on the couch, and Uncle Edward was in the kitchen, pouring himself some spinach juice.<br>"Well, seems like Sleeping Beauty finally decided to get his butt moving," he sneered. Avery looked out the window, surprised to see how much darker the sky was. "Go make yourself useful and bring my coat from upstairs."<br>"Yeah, yeah, alright. Whatever," Avery muttered, heading towards the stairs.<br>"I'm sorry, it sounded like you said something," Uncle Edward remarked, a new edge to his voice. "How about you say that a little louder, hmm?"<br>Avery's jaw tightened, and he struggled to keep a neutral face. "I wasn't--"<br>"Sure you were. My eyes might not see as well as they used to, but my ears work just fine," Uncle Edward said, now staring at Avery. "So do my arms. I can throw just fine."<br>Avery's gaze darkened. "I said, yeah, alright. I'll get your coat." He ran upstairs to his uncle's bedroom, and whatever Uncle Edward was yelling to him from downstairs, he couldn't make out.</div>]]></description>

He boomed out like a first-time skydiver.<br>Rolling my eyes, I asked "what have you done now?"<br>"Well..." he closed the door and untied the drapes, "so you heard about this latest land lottery? With the 50,000 acres?"<br>"Well, yeah, I'd heard about it."<br>With a guilty look on his face, he bit his folded pointer finger. "So you know how they only put one person's name in once?"<br>"Right."<br>"And how the big families have a better chance at winning it big than the solo acts like yours truly."<br>Of course, that was only natural, "It is a numbers game."<br>"Well..." he hung up his hat and sat down on the bed, "I figured it'd only be fair to enter the lottery if I had even chances with all the farmers what have a wife and parents and seventeen kids weighing up their favors."<br>"Maybe you'd ought to have hosted your parents and found a wife and had seventeen children, then," I recommended, knowing no three actions could be more opposite to Harry's lifestyle.<br>"Yeah, well what's past is past, I figure." He looked at the curtain and started tracing the pattern.<br>"Well?" He was such a distractible man<br>"Well what?"&nbsp;<br>"Well what did you do that's got you so iced over!?" Even I could only take so much of Harry.<br>"Right, right, well, I figured the only way I could win the lottery was if I had a big family."<br>"So..."<br>"So I told them I had a big family"<br>I couldn't believe him, "Oh, Harry!"<br>He grinned guiltily, "Yeah, a wife, parents, in-laws, and four kids in counting"</div>]]></description>

It’s kind of sad.<br><strong>B:</strong> ...sad?</div><div><strong>T:</strong> She couldn’t find any kids at her school to invite so she invited you guys.</div><div><strong>I:</strong> Hey! Don’t say that! Especially not about your own sister.</div><div><strong>B:</strong> You shouldn’t say that at all.</div><div><strong>M:</strong> And we’re her friends, too. I stood at the kitchen door, wondering what I just got myself into. I believe she realized that I hadn’t moved yet, so she looked up and stopped chopping. I stared at her.&nbsp;</div><div>“You can start grading the feta, sweetheart.” I went to the kitchen island and grabbed the cheese sitting on a chopping board. I began to grate the cheese.</div><div>“Honey, you need to be gentle. The cheese isn't going anywhere, I promise.”</div><div>I felt like I was suffocating next to her, waiting for an insult to come rushing out. Once I was done, I ate a piece of cheese.</div><div>“Sweetheart, please wait to eat when the salad is done.”</div><div>“Mom, it's not like we don't have a whole block of cheese grated. I'll be fine.”</div><div>She put her knife down.</div><div>“It's not the cheese I am concerned about, it's you. Just one thing and we’re outta here,” she shrugs him off.</div><div>She pulls out a shovel and he backs away, starting to run out of the graveyard.</div><div>“Hey! Where are you going? I need a ride back home!” she yells after him.</div><div>He stops and watches her as she takes flowers out of her back pocket and starts digging a small hole near the edge of the gravestone. She plants the flowers and pats it down, getting out her water bottle and giving the plants some water. He lets out a huge breath of air as she runs toward him and claps his back.&nbsp;</div><div>“You were so scared,” she laughs. “Cmon, let’s go!”</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

How did you kn-”</div><div><br></div><div>We were interrupted by a loud cracking sound in the distance. I spun around, only to face the largest plant I had ever seen in my life.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Its stem was the width of five tree trunks, its leaves were the size of a human head, and it sprouted curly tendrils that seemed to stretch out for miles and miles.
