         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mini Lesson:&nbsp;<br>Have all students gather around the anchor chart stand where the big book "The Kissing Hand' is displayed. Hand each child their own copy of the book.&nbsp;<br>Introduce the book&nbsp;<br>divide the anchor chart into three columns. Label them begining, middle, and end. Let the students know that we will be using this book to answer these questions!&nbsp;<br>As you read the story. Ask questions to make sure everyone is engaged. Pause along the way to fill out the chart.&nbsp;<br>Remind students that the begining is what happens first, the end is what happens last, and the middle is everything in between!&nbsp;<br>Read aloud prologue and chapter 1 of Dragon of the Red Dawn&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Have everyone gather on the rug.&nbsp;<br>Bring out the anchor chart from yesterday and review begining, middle, and end.&nbsp;<br>Let them know that today we will be practicing working on predicting stories! explain the term if children are confused :)<br>Get another anchor chart out and get out the Green Eggs and Ham book<br>Introduce the book&nbsp;<br>. Ask the children what they think the book might be about? Who do they think the main characters are etc.&nbsp;<br>As you read the book, stop throughout and ask the children questions about what they think will happen and write them on the anchor chart....Let them know they are making predictions. Show them what a wrong prediction looks like such as "I think the pink elephant will get some icecream"..it doesn't go with the book :)&nbsp;<br>Their predictions have to make sense :)&nbsp;<br>Let them know they are going to practice making&nbsp; predictions for Dragon of the Red Dawn.&nbsp;<br>Read chapter 2</div>]]></description>

They will share with their partner and come back to the rug and share their ideas. <br>After this, play the smart board game with the students<br>Have several different predictions from the book. For every group of questions, one will be right. Have the students vote for which prediction they think is true. Then, make a poll with their answers from earlier and have another vote :) </div>]]></description>
