Cherry eye is a condition where the gland of the third eyelid, also known as the nictitating membrane, prolapses or protrudes. This gland is responsible for producing a significant portion of the eye's tear film. When it prolapses, it appears as a red, swollen mass in the corner of the eye, resembling a cherry, hence the name "cherry eye."

In the case of the Dalmatian that presented with cherry eye, the condition was noticeable due to the prominent red protrusion in the corner of the dog's eye. This condition can cause discomfort, irritation, and can lead to further complications if left untreated, such as chronic dry eye or infections.

The treatment for cherry eye typically involved surgical intervention to reposition the gland back into its proper place.

This bull terrier was the mother of the puppies we had to euthanasia due to neurological problems. It came in to be de-sexed so it can no longer have the chance to produce more deformed puppies.

Spaying, also known as ovariohysterectomy, is a surgical procedure performed on female dogs to remove their reproductive organs (ovaries and uterus). This procedure is commonly recommended to prevent unwanted pregnancies, reduce the risk of certain health issues, and eliminate behaviours associated with the heat cycle.

A small incision is made in the dog's abdomen, usually just below the umbilicus (belly button). The surgeon carefully locates and exteriorises the ovaries and uterus through the incision. The blood vessels supplying the ovaries and uterus are clamped and tied off to prevent bleeding. The ovaries and uterus are then removed. The incision is closed in multiple layers, the muscle layer is sutured first, followed by the subcutaneous layer, and finally, the skin. The skin may be closed with sutures, staples, or surgical glue.

A C-section, or caesarean section, is a surgical procedure performed to deliver puppies when a natural birth is not possible or poses a risk to the mother or the puppies. This procedure is often necessary in cases of dystocia (difficult labor), certain breed predispositions, or when there are complications during the birthing process.

In the case of the Jack Russell a C-section was performed due to the mother being in a fight with another dog and had a puncher wound on its stomach. The procedure was performed to safely deliver the puppies and ensure the health of the mother.
