-The old man replies by saying that they don't have snow and etc. because of climate control
-The community does not have hills either because it slows down transportation
-Jonas thinks he has lots of power, but the old man corrects him and says that he has a lot of honour, not power
-It comes to the time to transmit another memory
-The memory is in the sun, with a sunburn
-They are done for the day
-Jonas is curious to what to call the old man if Jonas is the New Reciever

Answer: Out of the 4 themes in the Giver, I think personally I would have to say "The Importance of Memory" is the most important. I think it is important because it highlights the fact that you must have past memories to learn from your mistakes in the past. Like in the Giver, only the Receiver's of Memory can learn what happened in the past and teach the other people in the community what to do and what not to do in the future. This is a good thing to have someone like the Giver, to have the importance of memory in their lives and struggle for others to live better.
