         <description><![CDATA[<div>The 3rd largest urban district in the state of Pennsylvania.  The district has 14 elementary schools, 1 early childhood center,  4 middle schools, 3 high schools, 2 newcomer academies, 2 alternative education academies.  A chronic absenteeism of 19.95%, Out of school suspension rate of 9.25% and below performing academic profile.  The district's free and reduced lunch exceeds 88%.  The district's Special Education population and English Language Learners have grown expotentially in the last five years.  As the district prepares for providing the best educational opportunities,  prioritizing childhood trauma professional development is critical for our staff to be prepared to meet the needs of our students and families in the 21st century.    </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>#THEPLAN<br><br>Using a digital platform for professional development minimizes the number of days required to train a district the size of Allentown.&nbsp; Building administrators and supervisors of facilities, food services, clerical, paras and security officers could provide the training with their staff and create collaborative groups to discuss how understanding childhood trauma and how it applies to their everyday work while still being congruent with other district staff groups.<br>Focus groups with representation from each provide feedback to training and input for additional support and utilizing an evaluation tool for accountability. &nbsp;</strong></div>]]></description>
