Create a form from an existing table or query

To create a form from a table or query in your database, in the Navigation Pane, click the table or query that contains the data for your form, and on the Create tab, click Form.

Access creates a form and displays it in Layout view. You can make design changes like adjusting the size of the text boxes to fit the data, if necessary.

Primary-Foreign key relationship

Data relating to each entity needs to be stored in separate data base tables and need to be linked by primary-foreign key relationships.

A foreign key is a primary key in another table. It is used to link tables together.

Validation

Validation is checking if data is reasonable. A computer can check for example if the data is within a certain range or has a particular format.

A database report is the formatted result of database queries and contains useful data for decision-making and analysis.

Most good business applications contain a built-in reporting tool; this is simply a front-end interface that calls or runs back-end database queries that are formatted for easy application usage. For example, a banking software application may contain specifically defined reports on all customers with large deposits or reports on monthly loan summaries for all customers.
