I wanted to focus my text set on a theme that is up and coming. I longed for a theme that was filled with many lessons, within beautiful illustrations. I came across the idea of growth mindset in my clinical placements. This was a concept that I believed was foreign to me. As I thought more about it, growth mindset was not actually new to me. I had been reading and writing with values of this theme for years now. My cooperating teacher expressed the growing popularity of this concept. She even had a section in her library labeled as "Growth Mindset books." Many of the books have a main character, who experiences a hardship, that they must overcome. These texts inspire students to not have a fixed mindset. It will encourage students to grow their mind into a beautiful mind, full of opportunities and positivity.
