At the center of boredom is endless adventure.

If you turn hope on high, you’ll see your goals more clearly.

If you look underneath peace, you might hear chaos.

When you toss sadness to the wind, it returns as hope.

When you tiptoe through the future, you might touch success.

Inside a startling bark is a longing for attention.

that I use everyday and everywhere

that my parents can luckily afford

that I use to talk with my friends and family

that I use to learn about the world

by loading words in the blink of an eye

the phone I use to listen to music

and to play games on when I’m bored

I keep it in my pocket

or my backpack

when I travel.

If I’m upset

I can use it

to forget about 

whatever is bothering me

This great phone

that I’ve had for three years

is something

I’m very attached to

but hopefully

not too much

Before I go to sleep

I listen to music

and charge

my pink, small, and complex phone.

Cold, blue, with endless amounts

Carrying all life

Encapsulating the Earth

No anger, no hate, no rage

I feel the rays of the sun

I can actually see the ocean floor

Can’t wait to have so much fun

Catch a lion by its foot

If it roars unhand him so,

My mom said I should

pick optimal things

And that is not you.

To see something new,

Forgetting about my problems,

I am focused on you.

Popcorn and coke,

I relax and kick back my feet,

I stare at your giant screen

For an hour or two

O movies,

What I’d do without you.

When you pushed me down the stairs,

When you tripped me at the playground,

When you took my food.

But I also remember when you read books to me,

When you gave me piggyback rides,

When you helped me get up,

When you gave me food because Mom told you to.

The cute energetic guinea pig

That never stopped squeaking at night

Whose death still affects me

I am from hot summers and cold winters

Warm Christmases and cold summer nights

Cicadas and snowballs

I am from two loving parents
