I think what she should’ve done was stay until father came back to protect her daughter.

Over time: in the begging it was just the father who had left. So it was just her and her mother. Then on day ten the mother left. Then after day eleven, the mother and father left her alone, for Francie, it has gotten harder and harder for her to live by herself. She’s started to have hard time trying to get water, food, and has no-one to talk to. Or even help. 

Rules: In order to live in the wild by yourself, there are a few thing you should/have to do. Like know how to cut raw meat to cook, know what things are edible to digest, collect water, is an animal get close you have to look bigger and scar it away, and try not to get lost looking for things and ect. The reasons I say this first is because when she is in the wilderness after her parents left her alone, she was able to take it well the first few days. According to the text, “My body leaned to it and then I remembered Ms. Fineday saying to me after the hiking trip, ‘I’m proud of you, Francie. You’r a brave girl.’ I straightened myself. I wanted to prove she was right.” (Frances Greenslade 140).

Hard working: This says a lot about herself as well. When she was left alone, she had to do so many things to protect and feed herself. 

Another thing about her is that she is a person who purifiers   to be around other people. She is not a person who want to be left alone and sometimes needs help to understand what to do. 

Adventuress. That’s the main thing about her to. She loves to be outside. Do things she’s never done before. She will get her hands on anything that helps her learn more about the wild.

Helpful. Why this is also a thing about her is that when she was at home, everyday she will help her dad fix cars. Help her mom when she needs to be reminded to take her pills. Inference: What I can be able to infer is that maybe this was the last moment that she spent with her sister. The reason I can tell is because the doctor told her to never run. She has a hole in her head making it harder to pump blood into her body.

Strong thoughts: I don’t think that it was a smart idea that her little sister ran and didn’t care that something bad will happen to her. I fell like it must be or feel bad to lose someone who is like the same person as you and so close. I feel like she should have known better. And that Francie should have stood up to stop he before things got worse.

There are so many thing that happened in this book that are so big yet small for the character to face. ☝️ one, the family car breaks down and they get stuck in the middle in the forest. Two, the father has to go away for a few days to find help. Three, the day when mom dose not leave the truck, we learn that she is a smoker and she will not stop when she’s in stress. Four, the mother leave Francie alone to find help and day. Five, Francie starts to run out of food and water. Six, the more we get in the book, we learn there are dead family members like grandma, Frances sister. Seven, Francis finds a Fox in the middle of the road and follows it and gets lost. Eight, when she finds her way back to the road to the truck, she finds that a tree has fallen on the top of the truck. And a lot more.

Buddy is such a cute dog. And really playful. I really love how the arthur added the dog so that Francis won’t be alone.
